Take an easy stroll and admire Băile Tușnad from the Apor bastion panoramic point!

The Bastionul Apor in Băile Tușnad is a historical gem waiting for you to explore. This marked trail begins from the heart of the resort, passing through the town center and alongside the Mikes and Apor springs, continuing towards the edge of the forest. After the paved street ends, you'll venture onto a well-trodden path. At about 10 minutes of walking, the trails split: one marked with a red cross (trail no. 10) will lead you to the Natura 2000 Site Tinovul Mohoș – Sfânta Ana Lake, while the second one, marked with a red dot, will guide you along the Surduc Mountain slope. At an altitude of 701m, you will reach the  Apor bastion, a panoramic point built in 1883. Recently, it has been restored and illuminated at night with a photovoltaic panel. From  Apor bastion, an impressive view opens over the town of Băile Tușnad in the Tușnad Gorge, the Olt River, and the Piatra Șoimilor Natural Reserve. With a rich history, the bastion has been renovated over the years, preserving its authenticity and original purpose. During the 2017 renovation, an exhibition space was set up, showcasing archival images and presenting the past of this fascinating location.
